<p dir="ltr">Trevor, that's exactly what I'm seeing.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Apparently pyserial in Ubuntu is old & broken.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Personally, I wouldn't mind just rewriting it in C to work more reliably and with zero dependencies.</p>
